AM Juice: Strawberry, Mango, Pineapple Smoothie
Excellent morning drink with lots of good fruit fiber and antioxidants. Actually this is blended. I have frozen mango and frozen pineapple that I pick up in big bags from Emart. You can also pick up frozen strawberries as well. I usually buy local from my Mom and Pop mart (Jin Mart or GM Mart) if available. I only buy pineapples fresh occasionally as the expense and the ripeness vary a lot.
Ingredients
5 strawberries
1/2 cup frozen mango pieces
1/2 cup frozen pineapple pieces
ground flax seeds
*a smidge of minced ginger
Add filtered water, drinkable yogurt, or nonsweet soy milk.
Let the frozen fruit thaw just a little (5-15 minutes). Put all ingredients in blender and spin until smooth. If flax is added, drink immediately. (Flax will expand in liquid.) This is a good to-go drink too. I sometimes switch out the mango to papaya when I find it fresh at Emart.

Green Drink: Add the garden and kitchen together
I have a three separate ingredient approach.
1. Base
2. Strong veggies
3. The pop!
The ultimate base for all my green juices: apple. Korean apples are fabulous and juice very well. Sweet with big apple taste. I sometimes use Korean pears (Chinese pears), but will only use half a pear as they are very juicy and very sweet. Other things regularly in the base part of the juice: cucumbers and carrots. I also like celery as part of the base, but my local mart is inconsistent in carrying it.
Base Ingredients
1 Apple (or 1/2 pear)
1 Carrot
1 Cucumber
1-3 stalks of Celery
Greens - spinach, kale, parsley, chicory
More greens - anything! Romaine, mugwort, , dandelion leaves.
Look at the leaves in the Organic Section in Emart or the fresh leaf selection that is used for bossam wraps.
Strong veggies (things with big tastes)
Beets
cabbage (purple, white, Chinese, bokchoy)
Onions
Bell Peppers
The Pop!
Garlic
Ginger
Lemon
Hot Peppers
Clean and cut all veggies and fruit to fit into juicer. In my juicer, I usually start by juicing the greens. I then alternative 'juicier' pieces. So it might be celery, cucumber, mugwort, carrot, parsley, apple, kale, beets, ginger.
My juicer is not that great. Sometimes I run through the remains to do a second juice.
I am starting to use the juicing stuff (all the good stuff that is not juice) to make: soup, pasta sauce, fried rice, omlettes, and I add bits to my homemade hummus.

Citrus Surprise
Beside drinking ginger tea, when I feel a cold coming on, or a sore throat, I usually mix this up.
Ingredients
1 Pink Grapefruit
5 Kul (tangerines or Mandarin oranges) or 1 Orange
1 Lemon
1 Carrot
1 Apple
Knob of Ginger
This gives a lot of juice and vey little pulp. I might also hit it with a bit of red or black pepper at the end. I add a lot of water and drink throughout the day.
